Ward notches top-10's with Tri-State at Park Jefferson and Hamilton County
After a rainout at Hancock County Speedway, Tim Ward kicked off his weekend in South Dakota, where Park Jefferson Speedway was added last-minute to the RepairableVehicles.com Tri-State Series schedule.
Ward advanced three positions in his heat to finish third and went on to salvage a ninth-place finish in the feature after missing the mark on setup adjustments prior to the main event.
On Saturday at Hamilton County Speedway, Ward secured a spot in the $2,000-to-win A-Main with a runner-up finish in his heat. He steadily worked his way forward in the feature, taking the lead from J.T. Wasmund on lap 17 and appearing poised for his first Late Model victory. However, misfortune struck on the final lap when he hit a hole in the racing surface, damaging the driveshaft and relegating him to a 10th-place finish at the checkers.
