Tim Ward drives to seventh in Clash at the Creek at 141 Speedway
Tim Ward returned to action in the Badger State on Tuesday as the 17th annual Clash at the Creek kicked off at 141 Speedway.
With a pair of preliminary features on the docket, Ward opened his week with a heat race win before finishing fourth in his prelim, locking him into Wednesday’s $10,000-to-win main event.
Rolling off from the fourth row in the 50-lap finale, Ward inched forward to record an eighth-place finish against a stout field.
After an early exit in Modified competition on Friday at Marshalltown Speedway, Ward shifted gears to his Super Late Model on Sunday for the Malvern Bank East Series-sanctioned Father’s Day Special at Mason City Motor Speedway. After transferring through his consolation race, Ward’s night was cut short when he was collected in a multi-car incident early in the feature. The damage forced him to retire on lap 14.
