Ward takes runner-up honors at Clay County

Tim Ward tackled a busy weekend of racing, competing in both the Late Model and Modified divisions across three Iowa tracks.

The stretch began Saturday at Independence Motor Speedway with the Karl Chevrolet Pro Late Model Tour, where Ward followed a runner-up finish in his heat with a ninth-place result in the main event.

On Sunday at Benton County Speedway, Ward appeared to notch his first win of the season after leading the final 16 laps of the feature. However, a post-race technical infraction nullified the victory.

Ward closed out the weekend on a positive note Monday at Clay County Fair Speedway, where he drove to a second-place finish in the 20-lap Modified feature.
