Top-10 finish in Late Model debut at Scotland County Speedway
Tim Ward stepped into new territory over the weekend, making his debut in the Super Late Model ranks as the Malvern Bank East Series kicked off its 2025 campaign at Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Missouri.
Ward showed speed early, clocking in as the second-fastest qualifier in his group. He secured a spot in the $3,000-to-win A-Main with a fifth-place finish in his heat race. The 30-lap feature saw Ward engage in a series of position swaps before ultimately crossing the line in ninth — a solid showing in his first outing with the series.
With Saturday’s Late Model plans washed out due to inclement weather, Ward shifted gears and headed north to Boone Speedway in Iowa to pilot his Modified. After placing fifth in his heat, his night came to an early end in the feature when he was forced to retire on lap 19 after getting caught behind a spinning car.
