Tim Ward Triumphs in Super Nationals at Boone Speedway

$10,000 Victory Secures Second Title for Arizona Native

HARCOURT, Iowa. (09/08/25) – For the second time in three years, Tim Ward stood atop the podium at Boone Speedway, capturing the crown in the 43rd annual Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

The 2023 champion returned to victory lane Saturday night, besting Midwest Madness Tour champion Dakota Sproul in the 40-lap Modified finale to take home the $10,000 winner’s purse. Ward piloted his Precision Performance Racing Suspensions / Farley's Wholesale Tire & Express Lube No. 4TW Performer Chassis Modified to the impressive victory—his third of the season.

“I was definitely sweating bullets there at the end,” Ward said in victory lane. “I don’t feel like this is even real. It’s been a heck of a week—a week of dreams, really. We’ve had a killer race car, and it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve got to thank Midstate Machine for letting me run the motor this week, and all my sponsors that help out. What a dream this week has been.”

Ward’s march to the main event began Wednesday when he secured his spot in the “Big Dance” on Saturday night with a qualifier victory, outrunning Dallon Murty in the 25-lap preliminary.

Momentum continued into Thursday night with Ward claiming a Race of Champions heat win. However, Friday’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational presented a strategic decision. After drawing the 26th-starting position, Ward opted to retire on the second circuit to shift his full focus to Saturday night’s main event.

Saturday’s action kicked off with the Race of Champions A-Main, where Ward led all 12 laps en route to victory over Dakota Sproul.

Later that evening, the two would square off again—this time in the marquee 40-lap Super Nationals finale. Sproul started on the pole, but Ward surged past him on lap 17 and held firm through a flurry of cautions to seal the prestigious title.

Ward crossed the finish line 0.959 seconds ahead of Sproul, while Dallon Murty completed the podium in third.
