Tim Ward attends King of America XIV in Wheatland
Tim Ward joined a stout field of 71 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Thursday for the King of America XIV.
After Wednesday’s scheduled practice session, Ward was penalized in his qualifying session on Thursday, setting him behind the eight ball for the remainder of the night. He went forward in his heat and B-Main but wasn’t able to qualify for Thursday’s opener.
In a better start on Friday, Tim followed up a second-place finish in his heat with a consolation victory. With a $5,000 preliminary payday up for grabs in the feature, Ward recorded an 18th-place outing.
Ward’s weekend came to an early end on Saturday night with a seventh-place finish in his B-Main, ceasing his bid for the $20,000-to-win King of America XIV main event.
