Tim Ward tackles MLRA at Springfield Raceway
Tim Ward made his first Late Model start of the season this past weekend as the Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) launched its new era with the opening of the 2026 campaign at Missouri’s Springfield Raceway.
Ward transferred into Friday’s opener through his B-Main but was forced to retire early from the feature on lap 12.
On Saturday, he showed improvement in time trials but again had to race his way into the $5,000-to-win March Madness finale through a consolation event. He went on to record a 16th-place finish in the 30-lap main event.
